The existing Hitecsa water-cooled package unit air conditioning system had been diagnosed with a faulty compressor and due to the age and inaccessibility of the equipment, the cost of spares and weighing up the age of the equipment, it was uneconomical to repair the system,
Therefore MAC selected new equipment to ensure the cooling and heating duty is correct within the retail store, the system chosen was a Daikin water-cooled VRF connected to the landlords condensing water heat rejection services. The VRV option gives greater incoming operating temperature range and control over the units.
Our engineers worked through five nights to ensure the store could remain open through the installation. We supplied and fitted a replacement Mitsubishi Electric 20KWDaikin water-cooled VRF and compact cassettes.
New installation completed with no down time and no disruption to the stores trading. Electrical contractors and plumbers also attended to carry out the enabling works for MAC to relocate the condensing unit to the back of house at floor level for future ease of maintenance, new condensing water pipe work was installed along with a new water pump, flow switch and strainer.
This store had been problematic as many water cooled systems in shopping centers are, this VRV option has resolved a lot of those issues and given the store a greater level of cooling and heat capacity and superior control over the system.
