The main difference between type one and type two EV chargers is that type one has a five-pin design, whereas type two has a seven-pin connector design.
Installing an EV charger to your home requires fitting the charger to your home and running a 10-metre cable safely to your fuse box. The cable is installed to your home following the latest regulations to ensure it is as safe as possible and then it will be tested by our specialist installation team to make sure everything is working, and you are ready to go.
Electric and hybrid vehicles require an EV charger to keep the battery full, just like any other rechargeable device. EV chargers pull an electrical current from an outlet or grid and then deliver it to the vehicle.
Depending on the make and model of your EV charger and how often the charger is used, it can last anywhere from five to 15 years. If you notice that your charger has stopped working or isn’t working as it used to then that is usually an indication, you may need to invest in a new one.
On average, the energy consumption of an EV charger is roughly around 11.81 kWh per day to charge a car and refill the range that has been driven. On average, this works out to be around 353.3 kWh a month and 4,310.65 kWh a year.
